The wood carving shown is NFS -- called The Spirit In The Wood , by Susan Holland. It is a piece, approximately two feet high and a foot wide, that is still unfinished because the wood needed to season longer before more carving could happen safely.
The story of a trauma is in this log, including what seems to have been a lightning strike, and some active bug drilling! It is a haunting presence even as is.
